Accessibility Statement
KORION Interactive GmbH is committed to making its website, https://www.korion.de, accessible in accordance with Section 10(1) of the State Disability Equality Act (Landes-Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz – L-BGG).
This accessibility statement applies to the aforementioned website.
This website is partially compliant with Section 10(1) L-BGG and the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung – BITV 2.0) in conjunction with the EN 301 549 standard, due to the non-compliances and exceptions listed below.
We are fully aware of these deficiencies and are actively working to resolve them.
The content listed below is non-accessible or only partially accessible for the following reasons:
The current deficiencies affect the four core principles of accessibility: perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness.
(a) Perceivability
Alternative Text for Images: Many editorial images, especially older ones, lack alternative text, meaning their content cannot be processed by screen reader users.
Structure and Semantics: The semantic structure of the website is partially incomplete. For example, the heading hierarchy is not consistently maintained, and not all areas are designated with correct landmarks (e.g., for the main content).
Conveying Information via Color: In isolated instances, information is conveyed exclusively through color without providing a textual or symbolic alternative.
(b) Operability
Keyboard Accessibility: The website is not fully navigable using a keyboard. Important navigation elements and functions cannot be reached or triggered without a mouse.
Visible Focus: When navigating via keyboard, the active focus (the currently selected element) is not consistently and clearly visible.
Navigation: Navigation mechanisms are not designed consistently across the entire website, which makes orientation difficult.
Link Texts: Some link texts lack meaningful context and insufficiently describe their destination (e.g., using phrases like “click here”).
(c) Understandability
Language Tagging: The primary language of the website is not consistently declared in the source code, which can cause screen readers to use incorrect pronunciation.
(d) Robustness
Compatibility with Assistive Technologies: Due to the aforementioned deficiencies in semantic structure and the lack of keyboard accessibility, compatibility with common assistive technologies (such as screen readers) is severely limited.
A full correction of all mentioned deficiencies on the existing technical platform would constitute a disproportionate burden, as the development of a completely new, fundamentally accessible website has already begun. The removal of these barriers will be fully implemented as part of the upcoming website relaunch.
To improve accessibility during the transition period leading up to the relaunch, we have implemented the following measure:
Adjustable Display: Via an integrated tool (plugin), users can customize the website’s display to suit their needs—for example, by adjusting contrasts, font sizes, font types, as well as line and letter spacing.
This statement was prepared on September 3, 2025, last updated on May 20, 2026, and is based on a self-assessment in accordance with Section 4(2), Number 1 of the L-BGG Implementing Regulation (DVO).
