It all began in 2003 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Society. Since then, we have continued to evolve: today, Korion is an established studio that has mastered the art of digital development and combines technical expertise with creative flair. We know how to turn ideas into robust software and deliver projects successfully.
Whether we’re carrying out complex ports for the latest consoles, developing serious games for the education sector, or paving the way for a release – our focus is on the technical substance. We apply the dynamism of gaming to technological challenges and find solutions that work in practice.
We have our roots in Ludwigsburg, whilst our games are at home all over the world. This approach is driven by a team for whom code is the key tool for shaping digital worlds. We firmly believe that great results come about where expertise meets a genuine passion for what we do – and where we, as a team, enjoy working together.
Step by step, every challenge a boost to our experience. That’s how we’ve worked our way up from an academic spin-off to an established interactive studio. Here’s where we’re at.
Dr Oliver Korn initiates the first spawn: Korion launches as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Society. The main objective is clearly defined: to make complex simulations accessible to users. Our academic rigour serves as a guide and lays the foundation for our precise working methods.
We are consolidating our progress and streamlining our structure. The sole proprietorship is being transformed into a limited company. At the same time, we are establishing our main base in Ludwigsburg. To this day, we coordinate all missions and raids from this hub.

We are unlocking a new skill tree: Entertainment Games. We recognise that gamification is the way forward, and are significantly expanding our portfolio for PC and consoles. Theoretical models are now being turned into pure gaming fun.

Change of leadership at the top: Michael Blatz is taking over as CEO. With him at the helm, the bar is being raised – in a positive sense: we are targeting international markets, optimising our engine and professionalising our B2B relationships.
Wizadora
It’s time for a corporate identity update. The old name was too niche, so we’re launching the ‘Definitive Edition’ of our brand: KORION Interactive GmbH.
